About This Game

Don't Make Waves is a first-person parkour game for TikTok LIVE, and you play it yourself with a keyboard and mouse. Every level is a flooded poolroom of tiled ledges, pillars, narrow beams and bobbing floats, with an EXIT glowing on the far side. Get there without touching the water: something blind lives in it and hunts by sound, every splash calls it, and it can only catch you in the water or on anything sitting low over it. The big number on stream is LEVEL, from 1 to 50, and the course is the same for every streamer, so viewers recognize a level when they see it.

Chat decides how the swim goes. A Rose throws a Pebble wearing the sender's face into the water just in front of you, and the monster may turn toward the plop. A Finger Heart's Decoy smashes a bottle far across the room and lures it away. A Hat and Mustache sends a giant cartoon hand that pushes you in with a full splash, and a Money Gun means It's Coming: the monster surfaces right in front of you and hunts you for 15 seconds. A Hand Heart and Confetti move you up or down 1 level, Leon the Kitten and Fireworks up or down 4, and the level never goes below 1 or past 50. Out of the box, every 20 likes throw a decoy with the liker's name and every new follower throws a pebble with their face.

When someone sends a Galaxy, the lights go out, the floor gives way and you fall back to Level 1 (or 10 levels, by setting), and chat has 30 seconds to send Save (a Corgi by default) and bring back exactly the levels it took. Get caught and you are back at the start of the level you are on, never a level lower. The rooms change as you go deeper, from the Pool Halls and the Tile Maze through a Stilt Village, the Pipe Works, Flooded Offices, the Lane Lines, the Drain and the Night Pools to the Deep End and finally the Surface, and from level 41 there are two of them in the water. Walk out of the exit of level 50 and you escape: a card shows your run time, and a new run starts at Level 1. Every level and every gift amount is worked out on the ScrollPlay game server.

Audience Gift Mapping

Gifts that help

Finger Heart
Decoy — a bottle with the sender's face smashes far across the room, and the monster goes there and forgets you.
Hand Heart
Up 1 Level — a beam of light lifts you up through the ceiling into the next level.
Corgi
Save — after a Reset, a lifeguard ring with the sender's face hauls you back up and brings back exactly the levels it took. Any other time it lifts you 1 level.
Leon the Kitten
Up 4 Levels — a golden beam carries you up four floors at once, the sender's face in the light.
Likes
Cheer Decoy — every 20 likes, a decoy bottle with the liker's name lures the monster away.

Gifts that make waves

Rose
Pebble — a pebble with the sender's face plops into the water just in front of you, and the monster may turn toward it.
Hat and Mustache
Push In Water — a giant cartoon hand with the sender's face on its cuff shoves you off whatever you are standing on, into the water with a full splash.
Confetti
Down 1 Level — the floor drops away under you and you fall into the level below.
Money Gun
It's Coming — the monster surfaces right in front of you and hunts you for 15 seconds: any sound you make draws an instant lunge.
Galaxy
Reset — the lights go out and the floor gives way, back to Level 1 (or back 10 levels, by setting). Chat then has 30 seconds to send Save and bring back exactly the levels it took.
Fireworks
Down 4 Levels — four floors fall away under you in one long plunge.
Follow
Heckle Pebble — each new follower throws a pebble with their face into the water in front of you.

These are the default bindings; a gift with no action bound to it does nothing. Every amount is owned by the ScrollPlay server: a level gift moves you exactly that many levels, never below 1 or past 50, and each extra Money Gun adds 15 more seconds of hunting, up to a minute. Streamers can rebind any gift, change the level amounts or create custom actions in Studio Mode.

Gameplay: flooded poolrooms and something that listens

Don't Make Waves is built around one rule a viewer understands in a second: don't touch the water. Each level is a run of jumps from the start platform to the exit, over ledges, pillars, beams and floats that bob and dip under you, and deeper in, stilt walkways, crumbling tiles, pipes, moving rafts, sunken desks, lane ropes and turntables. Miss a jump and you land in waist-deep water with a splash. You can wade to a ladder or any low edge and climb out, but every step you wade makes noise, and the pale shape under the surface turns toward it.

A catch is never game over. The monster rises out of the water, the screen goes dark, and a moment later you are back at the start of the same level, never a level lower. Falls and near-misses happen with nobody gifting, and gifts land on top of all of it: a pebble at the wrong moment brings it straight to you, a decoy buys you the seconds you need to climb out, and a push drops you in at the worst possible time.

Built for TikTok Live streamers

Don't Make Waves is played by hand: click the game to take the mouse, then WASD to move, Space to jump and Shift to sprint. The arrow keys turn too, and Esc lets the mouse go. There is no autoplay, so it suits streamers who want to play while chat gets in the way. Pick a difficulty (Chill, Normal or Wild, which sets how fast the monster swims and how far it hears), the Save window (10 to 60 seconds) and whether a Reset sends you to Level 1 or back 10 levels, and set mouse sensitivity, Invert Y and head bob to taste. Studio Mode shows every gift action with its default gift, lets you rebind them and test-fire them before you go live, and the same overlay widgets and scenes work as in every other ScrollPlay game.

Don't Make Waves — frequently asked questions

Is Don't Make Waves free, or do I need a Play Pass?

Don't Make Waves is a Play Pass game, so it needs an active subscription on your ScrollPlay account. The launcher itself is a free Windows download, and your viewers are never charged anything: likes and follows are free, and gifts are only what they choose to send.

Do I have to play it myself?

Yes. Don't Make Waves is a first-person game you play with a keyboard and mouse: WASD to move, the mouse to look, Space to jump and Shift to sprint. There is no autoplay, and it can't be played on a touchscreen.

What happens when the monster catches me?

You are back at the start of the level you are on a second later, and your level stays exactly where it was. Falling into the water isn't a catch on its own: wade to a ladder or a low edge and climb out before it reaches you. High platforms are safe, because it can only reach you in the water or on something sitting low over it.

How do Reset and Save work?

A Galaxy sends you back to Level 1 by default (you can set it to send you back 10 levels instead) and opens a 30-second Save window, adjustable from 10 to 60 seconds. If anyone sends Save in time, a lifeguard ring brings back exactly the levels the Reset took, added to the level you are on, so anything you climbed during the countdown is kept. A Reset at Level 1 takes nothing, and a Save with no Reset pending lifts you 1 level.

Can I play Don't Make Waves in the browser?

Yes, on a computer with a keyboard and mouse. Don't Make Waves plays in your browser on the ScrollPlay web launcher with the same account, and in the free ScrollPlay launcher for Windows. It can't be played on a phone.
