How to create interactive TikTok LIVE games

What makes a game interactive on TikTok LIVE
On a normal stream the audience watches. In an interactive game the audience plays: what viewers do in the TikTok app becomes an input to the game on your screen. ScrollPlay listens for three of those — a gift, a number of likes and a follow — and each one can be tied to an event in the game: a boost, a hazard, a giant power-up, a rescue.
The loop is the same every time. A viewer taps a Rose on their phone, TikTok delivers it to your LIVE, ScrollPlay picks it up from your connection, and the game reacts a moment later — with the sender's name on screen. That visible cause and effect is the whole trick. People send gifts to do something, not just to be noticed, and a game gives every gift something to do.
The other half is trust. Whatever the game decides — the score, the goal, how far a gift throws the player — has to be the same for everyone watching. In ScrollPlay games those decisions are made on ScrollPlay's servers, so the number on your stream is the real one.

Code it from scratch
Developers can build a game in an engine and wire TikTok LIVE events in themselves. You then own the hard parts: a LIVE connection that drops and reconnects, gift combos that arrive as running counts, and a server that keeps scores honest.
Step by step: build a TikTok LIVE game in Playground

Install the launcher and open Playground
Download ScrollPlay, sign in, and open Playground from the launcher's sidebar. Start from a template — it's the quickest way to see how a finished level fits together.

Build the level
Pick a shape — a platform, block, ramp, coin, spikes, a bounce pad or a flag — or a model from the Library, and click where it goes. Select it and drag the + to repeat it into stairs, a bridge or a tower. Then give pieces a behavior: bouncy, crumbly, spinning, dangerous, a conveyor, a teleport, or an enemy that chases the player.

Give the round a goal
Decide what winning looks like and put the score where viewers can see it. A goal on screen turns a level into a race your chat can push you toward — or away from.

Write the viewer rules
Each rule is one sentence. When a viewer sends a Rose, score a point. When someone sends Hand Hearts, make the player giant for eight seconds. Every 200 likes, shake the screen. When someone follows, put a welcome on screen. Mix rules that help with rules that get in the way, so your chat has two sides to pick from.

Test it
Press Test to play what you saved. Your viewer rules also appear in Studio Mode under Actions, the same as any ScrollPlay game's, where you can fire each one to check it.

Publish and go live
Publishing sends your game for review. Once it's approved, real gifts reach it, other Play Pass streamers can find it in the launcher's Community tab, and it's ready for your stream: add the game window to TikTok LIVE Studio and go live.
Five rules that make viewers send gifts
These come from watching what actually earns on ScrollPlay streams. They hold whether you build a game or pick one.
Make the cause obvious
If a viewer can't see what their gift did, they won't send a second one. Big, readable reactions — a shake, a giant player, a tornado — beat a number quietly ticking up.
Price effects like gifts
A Rose costs 1 coin; the biggest gifts cost tens of thousands. Let cheap gifts nudge and expensive ones change the round, and viewers learn the ladder in a single stream.
Give both sides something to buy
The best-earning ScrollPlay games are tug-of-wars: some gifts help the streamer and others push them back, sized so they cancel out exactly. A close game is one chat keeps paying to win.
Let free viewers play too
Likes cost nothing, so most viewers like long before they gift. A rule on every 100 or 200 likes turns watchers into players — and players are the people who send gifts.
Put the menu on screen
Viewers choose gifts by what they do. An Action Board on your overlay shows every gift and its effect, so nobody has to ask in chat.

Do I need to know how to code to make a TikTok LIVE game?
No. Playground builds a game from pieces you drag into a level and rules you write as one sentence each. Nothing is scripted.
Is Playground free?
The ScrollPlay launcher is a free download, and its three free games need no subscription. Building and playing Playground games needs Play Pass.
Can viewers use likes and follows, not just gifts?
Yes. A rule can fire on a gift, on a number of likes or on a follow. Chat messages don't change the game.
Does my audience need to install anything?
No. Viewers watch your LIVE in the TikTok app and send gifts, likes and follows as they always do. The game runs on your PC and reacts on your stream.
Can other streamers play a game I make?
Yes. Once your game is published and approved it appears in the launcher's Community tab, where other Play Pass streamers can play it on their LIVE with your name on screen — and remix it, if you allow that.
Does Playground work on a Mac or a phone?
Playground runs in the ScrollPlay launcher for Windows. Many ScrollPlay games also run in a browser on Mac and phones, but building happens on Windows.
